“Call to Forgiveness, Call to Love" Forgiveness Workshop
September 8, 2012 A Free Event!
3-5:30 PM
with Judith Toy, including excerpts from her nonfiction book
Murder as a Call to Love, A True Story of Transformation and Forgiveness
There is something inside each of us that wants to forgive others as well as ourselves -- to be free. We have developed a dynamic, hands-on two-hour workshop on forgiveness -- Call to Forgiveness, Call to Love. We employ mindfulness meditation, journaling, a talking stick circle and a forgiveness ritual. This is a completely secular approach. The first workshop, at Cloud Cottage, brought us more people than we could fit comfortably into the tea-room. Do not miss this opportunity to find a new freedom. Book signing to follow.

Reading/Book Signing at Black Mountain Library for Friends of the Library
with Judith Toy, author of Murder as a Call to Love
Tuesday September 13
7 PM

Join us for an informal gathering and heartfelt conversation on the power of forgiveness. Here is one woman's experience at a reading:
Judith Toy's book, Murder as a Call to Love: A True Story of Transformation and Forgiveness, is intense, powerful, painful and hard to read. I met Judith at a book signing before I read the book. She read a piece of it out loud and I found myself sobbing. I went home and read the book in one sitting and cried through much of it. I tried to put it down, because it was so hard, but I couldn't do it, that's how compelling her story and her writing are. What Judith Toy is proposing here. . . what she has in fact done in her own life, is no less than spiritual alchemy. Complete transformation of one thing into another - base metal into gold, manure into compost . . . rage/fear/pain into forgiveness/mercy/love. And she is just like us! This is a beautiful story that tells us that this world IS redeemable, that WE are redeemable, that there is NOTHING in this world that cannot be redeemed by the awesome power of love. Do not pick up Murder As A Call to Love unless you are prepared to be cracked open and possibly transformed yourself.
--Angela F. Jordan, author of the newly-published We End in Joy, Memoirs of A First Daughter.
"I wish I could have held her while she cried." -- Judith Toy

Summer Lunch Series at Black Mountain Center for the Arts

Judith will read from her book and sign books at Noon to 1PM on Friday, July 13, at Black Mountain Center for the Arts, in Black Mountain, where in the past she has taught poetry and writing and puppetry. She is glad to be reading in her home town, and looks forward to having a discussion with Black Mountain neighbors and friends.
Judith will read at the Coventry Village Library, 1925 Coventry Road, Cleveland Heights, in their Body, Mind, Spirit Series at 7 pm, Thursday, June 14. Co-sponsored by a 34-year-old indie book seller, Mac's Backs Books in Coventry Village.

This is the library where I held a card as I was growing up in Cleveland Heights. I will be bringing my 90-year-old mother, Marjorie, to the reading with me. Will read the chapter that tells about growing up there for my first 20 years on this planet. Books available for purchase and signing.
Judith will read and share her thoughts with you and sign books at Urban Dharma this Saturday, June 3 at 5:30 PM at 29 Page Avenue, Asheville. Just to visit Urban Dharma's beautiful new space is worth the ride.
